Trigona (Nostotrigona) permodica: Engel et al. 2021: 82 [classification, taxonomic characters].

Diagnosis: Integument predominantly black. Pilosity silver, decumbent on the clypeus, denser on the lower paraocular areas, more sparse and slightly brown on the upper half of the face. Mandible reddish-brown, with five blackened teeth. Clypeus with erect setae of length approximately 0.15 mm, approximately 1× the diameter of the scape. Scape brown–blackened, with long erect setae (0.10 mm), about 0.7× the scape diameter. Clypeus with short distance between the epistomal suture and inferior tangent of the antennal socket, approximately 0.3× the scape diameter. Malar area with a length of approximately 0.7× the diameter of the scape. Carina post-ocellar low and smooth. Vertex with setae of length approximately 0.19 mm, about 1.3× the diameter of the scape. Mesoscutum with setae approximately 0.22 mm, about 1.5× the scape diameter, scutellum with longer setae (0.30 mm), approximately 2× the scape diameter. Metatibia relatively narrow and shallow, approximately 3.2× longer than wide. Metabasitarsus with anterior and posterior margins subparallel, apex slightly concave. Wing membrane hyaline, slightly smoky in the fifth apical and marginal cell. Venation and pterostigma brown. Metasoma subtriangular. Total body length approximate 4.7 mm.

Geographic distribution ( Fig. 8 ): Brazil (Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima); French Guiana (Cayenne); Guyana; Peru (Loreto, Madre de Dios, Ucayali); Suriname (Para).

Biological note: Life history unknown.

Comments: Trigona (Nostotrigona) permodica had not yet been registered for Brazil ( Camargo et al. 2013; Oliveira & Nogueira 2023), but here its is expanded to Brazil, with records for the states of Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia and Roraima.
