Type. Holotype male from Xichú , Guanajuato, Mexico, 30.V.1999, J. L. Castelo col. ( CNAC T0881).

Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the type locality.

Diagnosis. Males of Filistatoides xichu n. sp. can be distinguished from remaining species by the very long tibia and acute paraembolic lamina in the male palp ( Figs 7C‒D View FIGURE 7 A ‒ D , 8I View FIGURE 8 A ‒ J. A ‒ D ).

Description. Male (Holotype). Carapace yellow, with lateral margins and eye area black. Eyes encircled in black. Chelicerae orange with anterior black spot. Labium and endites yellowish. Sternum white. Palp and legs yellowish, with sparse, black annulations. Abdomen dorsally cream with 5–6 black chevrons, laterally and ventrally white ( Fig. 7A View FIGURE 7 A ‒ D ). Total length 2.5. Carapace length 1.7, width 1.0. PME separated by their diameter. Palp measurements: femur 1.1 long, patella 0.4 long, tibia 0.8, long, 0.3 wide. Leg measurements: I femur 2.2/ patella 0.4/ another articles lacking; II 1.4/ 0.4/ 1.6/ 1.5/ 0.7/ 5.6; III 1.1/ 0.5/ 0.8/ 0.9/ 0.6/ 3.9; IV 1.4/ 0.7/ 1.0/ 1.4/ 0.8/ 9.2. Palpal tibia almost two times the length of the bulb, not enlarged in distal area ( Figs 7B‒D View FIGURE 7 A ‒ D , 8H‒J View FIGURE 8 A ‒ J. A ‒ D ). Embolus sinuous with elongate ventral furrows (Fig. 95). Abdomen 1.5 long.

Female. Unknown.

Other material examined. None.

Natural history. The specimen was collected by hand in an urban area.

Distribution. Known only from Guanajuato, Mexico ( Fig. 22 View FIGURE 22 A).
