Material. ISRAEL: ‘ En Ya’akov, 14‒19.i.2007 (I. Shtirberg) – 2♂, 1♀ ( TAU) ; same locality, 10.xi.2006 (I. Shtirberg) ‒ 1♀ ( TAU) ; Haifa, university campus , 450 m, 29.xii.2010 ( YM) – 1♀ ( ZMMU) ; Matta, 13‒18.i.2007 (I. Shtirberg) – 1♂ ( TAU) ; Adullam, 10.iii.2008 (O. Skutelsky) ‒ 1♂, 1♀ ( TAU) .

Comments. Examination of the holotype female of H. carmelita revealed that the endogyne is identical to that of the well-known and widely distributed Transpalaearctic H. nava . Therefore, the two names are synonymised here. It appears that records of this species from Israel are the southernmost for the entire range of the species.
