HOLOTYPE: AMNH 409644 View Materials , adult male, collected at Hai Bum , Myanmar, on 1 March 1935, on the Vernay­Hopwood Chindwin Expedition (no. 525).

COMMENTS: The AMNH number of the holotype was given in the original description. There are two paratypes: AMNH 409645, female from Hai Bum, and AMNH 409646, female from Dalu. The birds collected on the Vernay­Hopwood Chindwin Expedition were reported on by Mayr (1938), who included a map showing collecting localities. On this map, Hai Bum is shown at ca. 268109N, 958359E.
