The genus can be separated from other Hemisphaeriini with the key to the genera of Hemisphaeriini proposed by Sun et al. (2012) with the following distinctive set of characters for Gergithus View in CoL : (1) posterior wing longer than half length of tegmen; (2) frons smooth without median carina or row of tubercles along lateral margin.
