Replaced name: — Agrostis trichantha (Schischk.) Tzvelev (1971: 59) View in CoL , non A. trichantha Schrank (1818: 4) View in CoL .

Other combinations: — Pentatherum trichanthum (Schischk.) Nevski (1937: 149) .

Type : — ARMENIA. Transcaucasia [Southern Caucasus]: Nor-Bajazet [Novo-Bayazet, now Gawarr] distr., in monte Archashin [Mt Arkhazin], 5 August 1929, O. Zedelmeyer & T. Hejdemann s.n. (holotype LE!), Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 .

Note:— The generic placement of Agrostis schischkini Paszko is uncertain; besides Agrostis ( Tzvelev 1971, 1976, 2006), it has also been referred to Pentatherum Nábĕlek (1929: 9) by Nevski (1937) and Calamagrostis by Roshevitz (1934). All close relatives of Agrostis schischkini are currently treated under Agrostis ( Tzvelev 1976, 2006).

Etymology: —The species is named in honor of Boris K. Schischkin (1886–1963), a Russian botanist. He described this species and his main work was concerned with the classification of flowering plants (especially from the families Caryophyllaceae, Umbelliferae and Compositae ) and plant geography (Siberia, Transcaucasia).
