Report associated with sponges: This species was reported among sponges and broken shells perforated by sponge Cliona sp. at subtidal area of Beaufort, North Carolina, Eastern North America (Newell 1947). This was also reported in empty Ostrea valves extensively pitted by sponge Cliona sp. from New Haven harbour, Long Island Sound, Eastern North America (Newell 1947); among sponge Suberites sp. from Long Island, USA (Newell 1947).
Remarks: This was reported in various tidal and subtidal substrata in brackish to marine waters from United States ( Gimbel 1919; Newell 1947).
