Material examined. Types. Holotype ♀: MADAGASCAR: Toamasina Province, Classified Forest Sandranantitra, 18°02.9'S 49°05.5'E, 450 m, sifted litter (leaf mold, rotten wood), rainforest, 18–21.I.1999, H. J. Ratsirarson leg. ( CAS). Paratypes: MADAGASCAR: Antsiranana Province, Ankarana Special Reserve, 13.6 Km 192° SSW of Anivorano North, 12°51.49'S 49°13.33'E, 210 m, 16–20.II.2001, sifted litter tropical dry forest, Fisher, Griswold et al. leg., 1♀ ( MOLC); Antsiranana Province, Ankarana Special Reserve, 22.9 Km 224° SW of Anivorano North, 12°54.32'S 49°6.35'E, 80 m, 10–16.II.2001, sifted litter in tropical dry forest, Fisher, Griswold et al. leg., 1♀ ( CAS); Antsiranana Province, Ambre Special Reserve, 3.5 Km 235° SW of Sakaramy, 12°28.8'S 49°14.32'E, 325 m, 26–31.I.2001, sifted litter in tropical dry forest, Fisher, Griswold et al. leg., 1♀ ( CAS).
Redescription. Female: apterous; length 2.7–3.2 mm. Holotype with head brown, except mandible, clypeus and anterior half of face testaceous; antenna brown, except segment 1 testaceous (antennal segments 9–10 missing); mesosoma brown-black; metasoma brown, except posterior third whitish; legs brown, except part of coxae, part of trochanters, part of meso- and metafemur testaceous. Paratypes from Madagascar, 12°51.49'S 49°13.33'E and 12°54.32'S 49°6.35'E, totally testaceous-reddish, except petiole black and antennal segments 3–8 darkened; antennal segments 9–10 yellow-whitish. Antenna clavate; antennal segments of holotype in following proportions: 9:5:13:6.5:5:5:5:5 (segments 9 and 10 missing); antennal segments of paratype from Madagascar, 12°51.49'S 49°13.33'E, in following proportions: 9:6:14:7:6:6:5:5:5:9. Head excavated, shiny, smooth, unsculptured; frontal line complete; occipital carina absent; temple distinct. Holotype with POL = 1.5; OL = 2; OOL = 8; paratype from Madagascar, 12°51.49'S 49°13.33'E, with POL = 1; OL = 1; OOL = 7. Palpal formula 5/3. Pronotum shiny, smooth, unsculptured, crossed by strong transverse furrow. Scutum shiny, smooth, unsculptured, with two large lateral pointed apophyses; scutum about as long as broad (length calculated from anterior margin to imaginary line joining two lateral pointed apophyses of scutum). Scutellum shiny, smooth, flat. Metanotum not hollow behind scutellum, flat, partly smooth and partly rugose; metanotum with two large lateral rounded protrusions. Metathorax + propodeum with anterior surface shiny, smooth, unsculptured; posterior surface transversely striate. Mesopleuron and metapleuron smooth, shiny, unsculptured. Meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete. Protarsal segments of holotype in following proportions: 12.5:2.5:5:14:24; Protarsal segments of paratype from Madagascar, 12°51.49'S 49°13.33'E, in following proportions: 12:2.5:6:14:23. Segment 5 of protarsus of holotype ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15 – 18. 15, 16 ) with two rows of 12 lamellae; distal apex with about 10 lamellae; in paratype from Madagascar, 12°54.32'S 49°6.35'E, segment 5 of protarsus with two rows of 9 lamellae. Enlarged claw ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15 – 18. 15, 16 ) with one large subdistal tooth and one row of five lamellae and one bristle. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.
