Sphaeronemoura Cn View in CoL –Y

( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 14 – 15. 14 )

Female. Forewing length 7.8–8.0 mm, hindwing length 6.6–6.7 mm. General coloration dark brown, wings brown. Terminalia ( Fig 15 View FIGURES 14 – 15. 14 ): Sternum 7 with large, fan–shaped pregenital plate, concave posteromedially and forming sublateral arms that are sclerotized and slightly thickened at their posterior margins. Subgenital plate composed of a median, quadrate sclerite with a triangular sclerite anteriorly; two bowl–shaped, sclerotized patches partly overlapping median plate on posterolateral margins. Sternum 9 with a small median indentation at anterior margin.

Material examined. 3 females ( CAU), CHINA: Yunnan, Gongshan, Danzhu, 1500 m, 27˚73΄N, 98˚65΄E, 2007. V.18, Xingyue Liu.

Remarks. This species seem related to S. hamistyla by having a similar fan–shaped pregenital plate. The lateral sclerotized areas of the subgenital plate are present in all known species of the genus, except S. hamistyla , but its absence there is unclear from the original description. Unlike the prominence of the large pregenital plate, the features of the subgenital plate are often obscured due to the darkly pigmented sternum. Hopefully, new material will be available in the near future to determine whether the subgenital plate feature was overlooked in S. hamistyla , which will shed light on the relationship between this unassociated species and others in the genus.
