Nymph description. Measurements (n=1): Head width 3.1 mm, head length 2.4 mm, pronotum width 3 mm, pronotum length 1.8 mm, cercal length 8 mm, body length 14.1 mm. General color dark brown in dorsal view ( Figs. 2 A-C) and light yellow in ventral view. Head dark brown with light yellow areas near post-frontal suture and occiput, and with ochraceous spots in the frontoclypeal region; eyes and ocelli black; ocelli with a translucent layer ( Fig. 2A ); labrum dark brown. Maxillae brownish to ochraceous with lacinia light brown and galea brown; mandible black to dark brown with median region dark brown with 5 pointed teeth on distal margin ( Fig. 2E ); labium light yellow ( Fig. 2D ). Pronotum dark brown with large yellow spots on each side ( Fig. 2A ). Mesonotum predominantly light yellow; wing pads dark brown at the base, becoming lighter at the apex ( Fig. 2B ). Forelegs light brown; femur with a central pale line without setae, but almost completely covered with thin and thick setae, which are sparse anteriorly and concentrated posteriorly in dorsal view; femur and tibia with a posteriorly well-developed band and fringe of long hair-like setaes ( Fig. 2F ). Abdomen brown to light brown, darker in live specimens ( Fig. 2C ). Cerci ochraceous with thin and thick bristles; segments differ in shape and size from base to apex ( Fig. 2G ). Thoracic gills: ASC1, PSC1, AT2, AT3 and PT3 (sensu Shepard & Stewart, 1983; Stewart & Stark, 1993).

Remarks. The adults collected had the following sizes: Male (n = 66), forewing length of 9–11 mm; and Female (n = 16), forewing length of 13–15 mm. The nymph differs from all of those already known due to its maculation pattern on the head and pronotum. This species is common and abundant in the PMM, especially in the Cumbuca River, where the nymphs were found in clusters of stones of approximately 25 cm in diameter.
