DESCRIPTION. — Male: lateral margin of depression or flattening of elytral dorsum rather thick, convex, lacking a clear flange or costa; stria 7 usually not part of the dorsal flattening, being at a little lower level than 6; humeral area widening in straight line, neither rounded (convex) nor sinuous (concave).
Female: elytra parallel-sided, not yet separable from other species with subparallel sides.
Length: 3.7-5.2 mm.
TYPE MATERIAL. — No type material present .
MATERIAL EXAMINED. — Kiribati, Tuvalu, W. Samoa, Wallis, Fiji, Lau , Tonga, Society, Cook, Austral. 187 specimens .
HOSTPLANTS. — Specimens beaten off Acalypha, Messerschmidia argentea, Prenna, Scaevola, Synedrella nodiflora.
REMARKS. — The species was described, in error, from Guam ( Zimmerman 1942c).
