Redescription. Female. Length, 0.70 mm. Body red. Head with frontovertex pale brown; frons, scrobe, facial area brown; eye and ocelli dark. Antenna with scape pale brown; pedicel, funicle and clava brown; second and third claval segment dark brown. Mandible with tip honey brown. Mesosoma with pronotum pale brown; mesoscutum, scutellum, metanotum and propodeum pale yellow; axilla and tegula pale yellow. Fore wing hyaline with veins red; hind wing hyaline. Legs with coxae, femur and tibia red, tarsi pale yellow. Gaster red, with about basal third white.

Head, in frontal view, broader than high (91:74); frontovertex with transversely elongated striations, but malar space with longitudinally elongate ridge-like reticulation; frontovertex with 8 prominent setae; ocelli arranged in obtuse triangle. Antenna ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 26, 27 ) with scape cylindrical, about 2.9× as long as broad (29:10); pedicel 1.7× as broad as long (15:9); funicle long, about 2.3× as long as broad (14:6); clava long, 4× as long as broad (36:9); apical segment of clava with rod-like projection.

Mesosoma. Mid lobe of mesoscutum 1.1× as broad as long (41:36); scutellum 1.7× as long as broad (32:19); propodeum longer than metanotum (15:5); mesophragma extending up to middle of gaster. Fore wing ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 26, 27 ) disc beyond venation with a single line of 5–11 setae along anterior margin, and about 4.4× as long as broad (160:36); marginal fringe 1.3× as long as wing width (48:36); hind wing 18.5× as long as broad (148:8); marginal fringe 6.3× as long as wing width (50:8).

Metasoma 1.73× as long as mesosoma (146:84); ovipositor 1.4× as long as hind tibia (90:65) and 1.5× as long as mid tibia (90:61), originating from base of TIII, and hidden.

Male. Length, mesosoma + metasoma, 0.63 mm. Antenna with scape, pedicel, funicle pale yellow and clava brown. Mandible with tip golden yellowish. Similar to female except for normal sexually dimorphic characters such as antenna and genitalia.

Type material examined. Holotype, ♀ (on 2 slides), “88B Oligosita ruficorpa Y & S from O. sanguinea M. Yousuf Aligarh 25.v.1984 ”, and a ticket with ‘Holotype’ written in red ink ( ZDAMU, HYMN. CH.351).

Paratypes: 4 ♀, 1♂ (on slide), labelled, “311 Oligosita ruficorpa M. Yousuf Aligarh 24.i.1985 ”; 1 ♀ (on slide), labelled “462 Oligosita ruficorpa M. Yousuf Jaipur 16.xi.1895 ”; 1 ♀ (on slide), labelled “490 Oligosita ruficorpa M. Yousuf Agra 31.xi.1985 ”, and each with a ticket with ‘Paratype’ written in green ink ( ZDAMU, HYMN. CH.351).

Additional material examined. INDIA: HIMACHAL PRADESH: Shimla, Mandi, Chandiyal, 1 ♀, 26.vi.2006, coll. S.M.A. Badruddin & F.R. Khan ( ZDAMU). Material determined and listed by Hayat (2008) and Fatma et al. (2014) was also examined.

Distribution. India: Haryana; Himachal Pradesh; Jammu & Kashmir; Rajasthan; Uttarakhand; Uttar Pradesh. ( Australia)

Comments. The original description of O. ruficorpa : was based on 9 females and one male. The holotype female is on two slides; one slide with one antenna, one fore wing (basally broken off), one mid leg and one hind leg, all under a large coverslip; the head and gaster (other parts missing) on the second slide under two small coverslips. There are 3 slides each labelled ‘Paratype’ in green ink, and bear the data as published, one female from Jaipur (number 462), one female from Agra (number 490) and 4 females and one male from Aligarh (number 311).

This species appears to be similar to O. sanguinea Girault (1911) (see also Viggiani 1981; Hayat 2008), but differs from it by having the basal third of the gaster white, fore wing disc beyond venation with a single line of 5– 11 setae along the anterior margin, fore wing veins and legs with reddish suffusions, and funicle segment slightly longer than the first segment of the clava. In O. sanguínea the gaster is wholly red, fore wing disc beyond venation with two lines of setae, one along the anterior margin curving along the apex and reaching the posterior margin almost to the level of the stigmal vein and a second beginning just distal of the stigmal vein and reaching the apex of the wing, reddish colour absent from fore wing veins and legs, and funicle segment longer than the quadratic or cup-shaped first segment of the clava.
