Holotype: adult female, from forest litter, 27°33'S, 153°03'E, Toohey Forest, Nathan, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, coll. H.C. Proctor, 23 Aug 2001. In QM.

Paratypes: 2 protonymphs, 1 larva, from wet­sandy heath litter, 25°57'S, 153°00'E, Rainbow Beach, Cooloola, Queensland, Australia, coll. J. Diagnosis

Adult female. Peritremes with 1 loop; palptarsus with 2 + 1 eupathidium + 1; pdx present; idiosomal setae lanceolate subequal in length; c1: c2 = 0.8, d1: d2 = 1.4, e1: e2 = 1.3, f1: f2 = 1.3, c1: d1: e1: f1 = 1.0: 1.2: 1.4: 1.3; femora I–IV with 4, 3, 3, 2; tarsi I–II with 10 + 1, 8 + 1.

Adult male. As adult female but: h1 much shorter than other setae; c1: c2 = 1.1, d1: d2 = 1.1, e1: e2 = 1.1, f1: f2 = 1.2, c1: d1: e1: f1 = 1.2: 1.0: 1.3: 1.3; tibia I with an additional long terminal solenidion and each tarsus with an enlarged solenidion.

Remarks

Adults of this species are similar to those of T. turcicus Ayy ₁ld₁z & Doğan, 2003 in the appearnnce of idiosoma and having the same chaetotaxy on the legs, but can be separated from the latter by having peritremes with one loop (vs: 3 loops), palptarsus with 1 eupathidium (vs: 2 eupathidia).

Etymology

The specific name refers to the occurrence of this species in Australia.
