Material examined

Holotype: adult male, from forest litter, 27°33'S, 153°03'E, Toohey Forest, Nathan, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, coll. H.C. Proctor, 21 Mar 1999. In QM.

Diagnosis

Adult male. Peritremes with 2 loops; palptarsus with 2 + 1 eupathidium + 1; pdx present; idiosomal setae lanceolate, c1 much longer than others; c1: c2 = 3.1, d1: d2 = 0.9, e1: e2 = 1.3, c1: d1: e1: f1 = 5.4: 1.4: 1.4: 1.0; femora with 4, 3, 3, 2; tarsi I–II with 9 + 1, 8 + 1; tibia I with an additional long terminal solenidion and each tarsus with an elongate solenidion.

Description

ADULT MALE (Plate 4; Figs. 29–32 View FIGURE 29 View FIGURE 30 View FIGURE 31 View FIGURE 32 )

Gnathosoma . Stylophore stumpy, 47; movable digits 22; peritremes with two loops. Palp 42; counts of setae and solenidia from trochanter to tarsus: 0, 2, 1, 3 + 1 claw, 2 + 1 eupathidia + 1 solenidion (). Subcapitular setae m 20, distance m–m, 25.

Idiosoma. Hysterosoma tapered, 227 long, 181 wide. Prodorsum bearing one pair of eyes, 7 in diameter, one pair of postocular bodies, 12 in diameter, and five pairs of lanceolate setae, c1 obviously longer than others setae, vi 39, ve 21, sci 21, sce 20, pdx 17; ratio vi: ve = 1.9; distances: vi– vi 34, vi–ve 25, vi–pdx 22, ve–sci 20, sci–sce 40. Hysterosoma bearing ten pairs of setae, c1 108, c2 35, d1 28, d2 30, e1 27, e2 21, f1 20, f2 23, h1 13, h2 20; ratios c1: c2 = 3.1, d1: d2 = 0.9, e1: e2 = 1.3, c1: d1: e1: f1 = 5.4: 1.4: 1.4: 1.0; distances: c1–c1 20, c1–c2 77, c1–d1 67, d1–d1 10, d1–d2 55, d1– e 1 35, e1– e 1 12, e1– e 2 50, e1–f1 37, f1–f1 10, f1–f2 24, f1–h1 27, h1–h1 7, h1–h2 12. Venter with three pairs of setae, 1a 18, 3a 25, 4a 15; coxal setae 1c 1.3x of 1b, 1b 23, 1c 30. Aggenital and genital setae absent; genitoanal valves with four pairs of setae, g 13, ps3 12, ps2 12, ps1 13.

Legs. Length (from base of trochanter to tip of tarsus): leg I 523, leg II 412, leg III 467, leg IV 552. Setae on genua lanceolate, IV> III> II> I, length: I 27, II 30, III 49, IV 62. Tibiae I with two solenidia, I 68 and I 16; tibiae II–IV each with one solenidion: II

8, III 9, IV 10; ratio I: I = 4.3, I: II = 8.5. Tarsi I–IV each with one solenidia: I 55, II 50, III 38, IV 31. Counts of setae and solenidia on legs I–IV: coxae 1a + 2, 1, 2, 2; trochanters 1, 1, 1, 1; femora 4, 3, 3, 2; genua 1 + 1, 1 + 1, 1, 1; tibiae 9 + 2, 8 + 1, 7 + 1, 7 + 1; tarsi 9 + 1, 8 + 1, 7 + 1, 7 + 1.

Remarks

Adult males of this species are similar to that of T. turcicus Ayy ₁ld₁z & Doğan, 2003 in having a pair of pdx and a similar apperance, but differs from the latter in having 9 + 1 (vs: 8 + 1) on tarsus I, 2 (vs: 1 seta) palptarsal setae, setae c1 being 3.1x of c2 (vs: 1.4), and ratio c1: d1: e1: f1 = 5.4: 1.4: 1.4: 1.0 (vs: 3.0: 1.7: 1.3: 1.0).
