Key to species of the Zaranga pannosa View in CoL species group

1. Forewing with a dark postmedial line usually clear and bordered by a light narrow line outwardly. Hindwing with a white postmedial line lies distant from the posterior apex of the discal cell. Male genitalia: uncus with apex obtuse; medial harpe of valva triangular with a relatively narrow base and pointed elongated apex curved outward (law-shaped), and placed at the base of valva. Female genitalia: lamella postvaginalis with deep triangular median incision posteriorly; latero-posterior processes of the 8 th abdominal sternum forked at the apex................................................. Zaranga pannosa View in CoL

- Forewing with a dark postmedial line usually vague, and uncertainly traceable against the ground color of the wing. Hindwing with a white postmedial line almost touching the posterior apex of the discal cell. Male genitalia: uncus with a pointed apex; medial harpe of valva triangular with a wide base (not claw-shaped), placed distant of the base of the valva. Female genitalia: lamella postvaginalis with shallow rounded median incision posteriorly; latero-posterior processes of the 8 th abdominal sternum pointed to the apex.................................................................................... 2

2. Forewing with a dark postmedial line almost dissolved, but with a light outer rim of the line distinct. A single black oblique stroke underlines the reddish-brown area between veins M 2 –M 3. On the hindwing, length of the common stalk of veins Rs and M 1 outward of the discal cell in males is similar to the distance between the fore and hind branch off points of discal vein and less than this distance in females. Male genitalia: uncus with a ventral margin deeply roundly concave; socii curved less than a right angle, ventral margin of the socius at the bend relatively rounded, not protruding; medial harpe of the valva located more basally (median axis of the harpe cross the valva at the 2/7 of the length of valva along costa), with the apex triangular, not pulled to the tip; distal teeth of the cucullus the same as that of the ventral ones and not protruding beyond the distal margin of the valva; aedeagus with short rounded laterobasal extensions; cornutus on the vesica larger, at the base more than half of the aedeagus width, separated from the aedeagus wall. Female genitalia: lamella postvaginalis with latero-posterior sides rounded and not extended; lamella antevaginalis almost twice wider than latero-anterior sides of the lamella postvaginalis; latero-posterior processes of the 8 th abdominal sternum thin, lanceolate..................................... - Forewing with both dark and light components of the postmedial line almost dissolved and usually vaguely traceable against the ground color of the wing. If the dark postmedial line is distinguishable, it is almost not shaded by light from the outside. A pair of black oblique strokes underlines the reddish–brown areas between veins M 2 –M 3 and M 3 –CuA1. On the hindwing, the length of the common stalk of veins Rs and M 1 outward of the discal cell in males usually much longer than the distance between the fore and hind branch off points of discal vein, and a similar distance in females. Male genitalia: uncus with a ventral margin between the tip of the apex and the base of the bulbous process almost straight; socii are curved more than a right angle, ventral margin of the socius with a sharp protruding bend; medial harpe of the valva located more distally (median axis of the harpe cross the valva at 1/3 of the length of valva along costa), with the apex pulled to the tip; distal teeth of the cucullus harder than the ventral ones which protrude beyond the distal margin of the valva; aedeagus with long club-shaped laterobasal processes; cornutus on the vesica smaller, at the base less than half of the aedeagus width, connected to the aedeagus wall. Female genitalia: lamella postvaginalis with the latero-posterior sides more or less quadrangular and extended; width of the lamella antevaginalis with a similar width to that of the latero-anterior sides of the lamella postvaginalis; latero-posterior processes of the 8 th abdominal sternum thick, conic................................................
