Type species. Ablabesmyia atrocincta Goetghebuer, 1942 .
Emended diagnosis. Based on specimens from the rainforest Amazon, the generic description of Larsia to male ( Fittkau 1962; Beck & Beck 1966; Roback 1971; Murray & Fittkau 1989) must be emended as follows: anal point conical or bilobed.
