The Genus Kogia has often been treated as belonging to a distinct family, the Kogiidae ( Geisler et al. 2011) . Here, we followed Mead and Brownell (2005) and classified Kogia in the Family Physeteridae , with three species and two genera listed in the waters of Korea.
