Section Verticillata contains only two species having whorled leaves. Allium viridiflorum differs from the type species A. verticillatum Regel (1875: 103) by the greenish color of tepals that are 9 times longer than the pedicels, and short stamens, as well as by ecological preference and geographical distribution. A. viridiflorum is a local endemic of Arkit, Chatkal range, Kyrgyzstan.
Specimens studied: — UZBEKISTAN. Uzbekistan, southern slopes of Chatkal Range. Ungortepa mountains. 1 km to north from Paramon village. no. 00028, 28 Aprill 2011, F. I. Karimov F. I., A. R. Batashov s.n. ( TASH!).
