( Figs 1–9 View FIGURES 1 – 5 View FIGURE 6 – 9 )

Description. Female. Green in life, fulvous when dried; body length 3.79 mm, wing length 3.5 mm.

Head ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ): 1.5× higher than long. Frons fulvous with 2 frontal and 2 orbital setae; posterior orbital seta half as long as anterior orbital seta. Ocellar seta vestigial, lateral and medial vertical seta, postocellar seta present, post ocular row thin and yellow. Antennal segments fulvous, apex of first flagellomere rounded with green tinge, arista with rays ca as long as width of arista at base. Face vertical, devoid of any markings, gena, parafacial and occiput fulvous.

Thorax ( Figs. 2 & 3 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ): 1.69 mm long, 1.1 mm wide, fulvous in ground colour, red-brown from scapular seta to dorsocentral seta with four dark brown vittae; medial vitta from scapular seta to dorsocentral seta, lateral one from base of transverse suture to intra-alar seta. Thorax with well developed chaetotaxy; 1 postpronotal, 2 scapular, 1 presutural supra-alar, 1 anterior notopleural, 1 posterior notopleural, 1 postsutural supra-alar, 1 dorsocentral, 1 postalar, 1 intra-alar and 1 prescutellar acrostichal seta. Scutellum yellow with two pairs of scutellar setae. Anepisternum with 2 setae posterior to anepisternal phragma, anepimeron and katepisternum with single seta. Katepisternum with a medial black spot. Anatergite and katatergite with apical black spot, meron with black marking. Subscutellum and mediotergite dark brown to black with a narrow, fulvous, longitudinal marking. Haltere yellow and green.

Legs ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ): Coxa, trochanter, femur and tibia yellow, tarsal segments yellow with green tinge; forefemur with two rows of dorsal spines and a single row of ventral spines, mid and hindfemur setulose. Mid tibia with 1 apical and 2 rows of dorsal spines, hindtibia with a single row of dorsal spines.

Wing ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ): Hyaline with crossbands; subbasal band extend from cell c to bcu, faintly connected to discal band medially; discal band fused with radial-medial band to form a Y-shaped band. Subapical band over crossvein DM-Cu constricted in cell r2+3, fused with anterior apical band. Hyaline band between Y-shaped band and subapical band broader than the length of crossvein R-M. Crossvein R-M beyond the middle of cell dm. Pterostigma yellowish with black marking towards apex of vein Sc.

Abdomen ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 ): 1.34 mm long, 1.1 mm wide, segments yellow except ten black spots; two basomedial spots each in tergites III–V. Tergites V and VI each with two spots posterolaterally. Oviscape (tucked beneath abdomen) pale brown, with needle like ovipositor ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 a).

Male: Fitting the description of female except for the inconspicuous constriction of subapical band in cell r2+3 ( Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6 – 9 ). Epandrium almost spherical with short lateral surstylus ( Fig. 7 & 8 View FIGURE 6 – 9 ), glans of phallus weakly sclerotised, coiled, with well developed acrophallus ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 6 – 9 )

Material examined. Holotype ♀, INDIA: Karnataka, Madikeri, Galibeedu , 08.xi.2012, David K. J. ( NBAII). Paratype: 1♂, INDIA: Karnataka, Sirsi, 20. xi. 2012, Vinayaka, T. ( UASB)

Discussion. This species is very similar to A. quadrivittata Hardy, 1974 , from Philippines in having four longitudinal black bands on scutum, but differs in having six basomedial spots rather than four on abdomen, dorsocentral seta placed closer to postsutural supra-alar seta level and transverse hyaline band between subapical and radial-medial band wider than the subapical band.

Etymology. The specific epithet is a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
