Types: 4 ♂ and 3 ♀ syntypes from Costa Rica: San José and Puerto Limón; P. Biolley leg. Deposited at the MHNG, cat. no. MHNG-ATRO-14228 (3 males and a tube containing gonopods) and MHNG-ARTO-14229 (3 females); one male syntype deposited at NMB, cat. no. NMB-DIPL-00442a (J. Hollier, pers. comm.).

Distribution: Costa Rica.

Comments: Attems (1938) considered this species a synonym of P. tenebrosus , a decision rejected by Hoffman (1960).
