Hydrochus radhakishunae Makhan : 1994: 39
Hydrochus pumilio Knisch View in CoL ; Oliva (1996); incorrect synonymy by Oliva (1996)
Originally described from Paraguay. Images of the habitus and male genitalia are given herein ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 28–29 ). New locality and deposition data of records from Brazil and Paraguay are given below.
Material examined (16): Brazil: Santa Catarina, Nova Teutonia , elev. 300–500 m (27°11’S, 52°28’W), 1–29.ix.1972, leg. Fritz Plaumann (7 NMNH) GoogleMaps . Paraguay: Alto Parana, Estancia Dimas , (25°33’S, 55°13’W), 17–22.ii.2005, leg. U. Drechsel (8 NMW) GoogleMaps ; Dep. Concepcion, Stillwasser des Arroyo Toro Paso, Seitenam (Uferschlamm), (23°51’S, 56°46’W), 25.x.2002, leg. U. Drechsel (1 NMW) GoogleMaps .
Remarks. I have examined the holotype, including the male genitalia, of H. radhakishunae (ZMHB) , and the lectotype of H. pumilio (RBINS) (see figures in Perkins, 2019a), and conclude without doubt that they represent different species. The locality data of the specimen imaged, from Nova Teutonia, ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 28–29 ) is given above.
