Gounelle (1911), in the description of Euryptera bicolor , mentioned two specimens, with no holotype selected. The following lectotype is therefore designated.:
Geographical distribution. This species was known only from Goiás, Brazil. The distribution is herein extended to Rondônia, Mato Grosso and Minas Gerais.
Specimens examined. Lectotype. male, BRAZIL, Goiás: Jataí, XII. 1897 – I. 1898 (C. Pujol leg.), with a green label “bicolot Goun” ( MNHN). Paralectotype, female, same data as lectotype. Other specimens. BRA- ZIL, Rondônia: Vilhena, 2 males, X. 1988 (Roppa, Magno & Becker leg.) ( MNRJ). Mato Grosso: Sinop, 1 female, X. 1975 (Roppa & Alvarenga leg.) ( MNRJ). Mineiros, 1 male, XI. 1994 (P. Magno leg.) ( MNRJ). Mun. Cavalcanti, Vila Borba, 1 female, 9.XII. 1987 (Monné & Roppa leg.) ( MNRJ). Minas Gerais: Patrocínio, male, 22.XI. 1984 (P. Magno leg.) ( MNRJ); Passos, male, 8.XI. 1981 (C. Elias leg.) ( MNRJ).
