Albizia thompsonii Brandis (1899: 284) View in CoL . ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 )
First–step lectotype:—‘ Type: Central Province, Thompson s.n. (K—photo!)’, designated by Chakrabarty & Gangopadhyay (1996: 596).
Second –step lectotype:— INDIA, Central Provinces, Maharashtra State, Chanda ( Chandrapur district ), Moharli reservoir, ca. February—March , 1877, R. Thompson s.n. ( K000627975 , image!, designated here; Isolectotype ( K000627974 !).
Distribution:—Endemic to India (Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa and Tamil Nadu).
Notes:— Albizia thompsonii was formally described by Brandis (1899) based on two specimens collected from ‘Central Provinces, Maharashtra, Chanda (Chandrapur district), Moharli reservoir, ca. February–March, 1877, R. Thompson s.n.’. Brandis mentioned the precise locality but did not cite the collection number/specific herbarium sheet in the protologue. Pertaining to this typification, of the two extant sheets at K (K000627974 and K000627975), the best and most complete specimen with leaves, flowers and pods (K000627975) is designated here as the lectotype as it agrees well with the protologue.
