Taxonomic notes. Described originally as a species of Strigamia View in CoL , it was not recorded further but only cited variously under Linotaenia , Scolioplanes View in CoL or Tomotaenia. Following an unpublished opinion by Crabill, Mercurio (2010) synonymized it tentatively under S. bidens View in CoL . It is maintained here as valid only provisionally, because the original description is very vague, so that the true identity of this species remains uncertain.

Distribution: known from a single locality in western Pennsylvania.
