Except as noted, all specimens are in the collection of the NMB.

Remarks: All 21 specimens collected by canopy fogging are females, (the only other specimen known so far from South Andaman Island is the holotype, and also a female). This is surprising, and suggests parthenogenetic reproduction, which, not uncommon in some weevils (e.g., Entiminae ) is not known within Molytinae . It is more likely reflective of different emergence times of the sexes, or maybe sex-specific feeding habits. The distance between the two localities from where S. jarawa has been found on the Andaman Islands and the present records from Borneo are a remarkable distance of some 2700 km apart ( Fig. 3 View FIG 3 ). Thus it can be supposed that S. jarawa is widespread in Indonesia, but only very rarely collected perhaps due to a canopy inhabiting way of life.
