Type material (1 ♂). Holotype: Malaysia: ♂, labeled ‘West Malaysia: Perak, / ca. 8 km N. Chenderiang, / 4°21′46″N, 101°15′09″E, / alt. 330–400 m, lpoh, 15–17, / 22.i.1995, evergreen rain / forest, leg. P. Schwendinger’ (MHNG).

Diagnosis. Reddish brown; length 2.44 mm. Dorsal surfaces of head, pronotum, elytra and abdomen covered with dense, short setae. Apical four antennomeres enlarged, unmodified, antennomeres VIII–X of similar width. Maxillary palpomeres II only slightly projected apicolaterally. Aedeagus with triangular parameres.

Description. Male. Length 2.44 mm. Head transverse, HL 0.41 mm, HW 0.52 mm; eyes each composed of more than 130 facets. Antennomeres VIII–XI ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 A) enlarged, simple, subcylindrical. Maxillary palpomeres II slightly projected apicolaterally ( Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 C). Pronotum as long as wide, PL 0.51 mm, PW 0.51 mm, roundly expanded at lateral margins. Elytra wider than long, EL 0.60 mm, EW 0.91 mm. Abdomen broad at base and narrowed apically, AL 0.92 mm, AW 0.95 mm. Sternite IX as in Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 D. Female. Unknown.

Comparative notes. The new species can be separated from T. sinensis by the smaller size (2.44 mm), dorsal surface of the body covered with short setae, the simple, subcylindrical antennomeres IX and XI, the less prominent apicolateral margins of maxillary palpomeres II, and the different aedeagal structures. Tmesiphodimerus sinensis is greater in size (2.69–2.77 mm), the dorsal surface of the body is covered with longer hair, the antennomeres IX and XI each has a disc-shaped projection, and the maxillary palpomeres II is more prominent at apicolateral margins.

Distribution. West Malaysia: Perak.

Biology. The single adult was collected in an evergreen rain forest.

Etymology. The new species is named after the country where the type locality is located.
