Dellia insulana Stål, 1878 View in CoL
Dellia insulana Stål, 1878: 83 View in CoL ; Amédégnato et al., 1995: 694; Perez-Gelabert and Otte, 1999b: 2. Dellia multicolor: Carl, 1916: 512 View in CoL .
Holotype male, from Cuba. [ NHRS].
Distribution. Cuba.
Notes. The area inhabited by D. insulana within Cuba is unclear. Gundlach (1891) indicates that he collected D. insulana in several localities. Bolívar (1888) does not give precise localities. Zayas (1976) suggests the existence of several species belonging to this genus in Cuba but does not mention localities. Indeed we have specimens of several new species of Cuban Dellia and these will be described in a forthcoming paper. Figs. 1 View FIGURE 1. A F and 1G show photos of two different probably undescribed species.
