Megaphyllum syrense ( Verhoeff, 1903)

Brachyiulus (Chromatoiulus) syrensis Verhoeff, 1903: 149 , Figs 9–12 .

Chromatoiulus syrensis: Attems 1927: 221 ; 1929b: 467; Strasser 1974: 290, 295; Ceuca 1992: 425. Megaphyllum syrense: Enghoff & Kime 2009 .

Material examined. NHMW: Inv. No. 3125.: gonopods, questioned type, slide preparation, Syra, leg. Verhoeff, det. Attems.

Distribution in the Balkans. Greece: Syros Island (without specified type locality) ( Verhoeff 1903).

World distribution. Endemic to the island of Syros, Cyclades, Greece.

Remarks. No new data has become available since the original description. Microscope slides regarded as types of M. syrense at NHMW are not in perfect condition, with just the promeres visible ( Fig. 18 ).
