Type locality — Lectotype female: Nicaragua, Chontales ( BMNH).

Distribution — Mexico (Veracruz, Chiapas, Nayarit), Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Galapagos Islands (introduced).

Diagnosis. Species of reduced dimensions (total length 3 – 5 mm); prothorax with lateral tubercle placed in the posterior third; elytra without carinae, with tuft of setae on the soft longitudinal elevations; mesoventral process as wide as one-third of a mesocoxa. Number of species currently included: 1.
