Genus Galumna Heyden, 1826 View in CoL
Type species: Notaspis alatus Hermann, 1804 , p. 92
Without sexual dimorphism in prodorsum and notogaster, notogaster rounded posteriorly in both genders. Body surface usually without strongly developed sculpture or ornamentation, sometimes foveolate, striate or granulate/ rugose, pteromorphs partially reticulate. Rostrum rounded, pointed, bidentate or with strong elongate protrusion. Lamellar and sublamellar lines present, long (sometimes short), thin, parallel, curving backwards at ventral end, rarely lines divergent, and lamellar lines straight (directed to rostrum) or directed to lateral parts of prodorsum. Rostral setae close to ends of lamellar lines (if lines straight and long) or medial to lamellar lines and distanced from them. Lamellar setae lateral to lamellar lines. Bothridial setae strongly diverse morphologically. Dorsosejugal suture and postanal porose area absent or present. Notogastral setae represented by 10 (sometimes 11) pairs of alveoli (exceptionally microsetae), one pair on pteromorphs. Octotaxic system represented by porose areas, one pair of Aa (rarely two), saccules absent, but exceptionally present with porose areas simultaneously. Median pore absent or present in females and males, undivided or subdivided (several parts), sometimes females with median pore, males without it. Pteromorphs clearly bilobed. Without thorn-like structures behind pteromorphs, dark band anterior to genital aperture and anal and adanal neotrichy. Adanal lyrifissures located close and lateral to anal aperture, or distanced from anal aperture, oblique. Leg tarsi with three claws. Leg setae not modified.
