Type species: Centroribates uropygium Grandjean, 1928 , p. 424
Without sexual dimorphism in prodorsum, but notogaster modified in males: posterior part bilobed. Body surface without strongly developed sculpture or ornamentation. Rostrum pointed. Lamellar and sublamellar lines present, long, thin, parallel, curving backwards at ventral end. Rostral setae medial to lamellar lines and distanced from them. Lamellar setae lateral to lamellar lines. Bothridial setae clavate, fusiform, lanceolate. Dorsosejugal suture absent or present, postanal porose area present. Notogastral setae represented by 10 pairs of alveoli, one pair on pteromorphs. Octotaxic system represented by porose areas, saccules absent, one pair of Aa. Median pore present in females and males, but differing in form and position on notogaster: comprising several parts in posteromedial region in females and numerous parts in anterior region in males. Pteromorphs clearly bilobed. Without thorn-like structures behind pteromorphs, dark band anterior to genital aperture and anal and adanal neotrichy. Adanal lyrifissures located close and lateral to anal aperture. Leg tarsi with three claws. Leg setae not modified.
