Description. Dimensions: LB: 8mm – 9.7mm (holotype 8.6mm; ā 8.96mm), LR: 1.3 mm – 1.6mm (1.6mm; ā 1.43mm), WR: 1.25mm – 1.5mm (1.3mm; ā 1.33mm), LP: 2.95mm – 3.7mm (2.95mm; ā 3.24mm), WP: 2.9mm – 3.95mm (3.1mm; ā 3.19mm), LE: 4.95mm – 5.8mm (5.0 mm; ā 5.29mm), WE: 3.8mm – 4.4mm (3.9mm; ā 4.05mm). N=6 Habitus as shown in Figure 2A–B View FIGURE 2 .

Integument lustrous black. Body dorsally subglabrous, ventrally with some whitish hairs on center of metasternum. Spots formed by golden and light green scales. Eyes, antennae and tarsomeres black.

Head black with the following markings of golden scales: a) a patch from median groove of rostrum spreading backwards to outline inner edge of eyes; b) a lateral spot under eye and anterior to gena. Rostrum rugose, as long as wide, bearing very short yellowish hairs on dorsal and latero-ventral surfaces; dorsal surface with shallow median groove. Eyes medium-sized, moderately protruding. Antennal scape as long as funicle, with scattered yellowish setae. Funicular segment I four times longer than wide, one-quarter length of II; segments III–VII as long as wide; club sub-ellipsoidal, nearly three times longer than wide.

Pronotum sub-globular (LP/WP 0.95), widest anteriad middle, slightly convex; surface glossy, smooth, with sparse shallow punctures; with band of golden scales with green reflections covering anterior margin, extending and enlarging to lateral curvature of pronotum; two dorso-lateral roundish spots behind the median line.

Elytra glossy black, subovoid (LE/WE 1.28), moderately wider than prothorax (WE/WP 1.25), widest at middle, convex; elytral striae formed by shallow punctures; proximal fourth of interstriae II–III with shallow punctures. Each elytron with six patches of light green scales with golden reflections: 1) basal transversal band, interrupted in middle by space equal to width of both interstriae I; the band extends slightly along second interstria, and laterally widens progressively until touching outer margin; 2) median transverse band on entire width, 3) postmedian oval spot on interval V, 4) long wide strip extending on interval III from behind middle to just before apex, turning slightly forward towards outer edge, and joining with streak of outer margin, 5) postmedian oval patch on interval VII, 6) long strip along postmedian outer margin joined with marking #4.

Metasternum and ventrite I slightly depressed and with sparse adpressed short bristles.

Legs black with fine brownish bristles; femora clavate; tibiae fringed, with pubescence along inner margin. Tarsomeres covered with brownish bristles.

Male genitalia as illustrated in Figure 2D–F View FIGURE 2 ; everted endophallus as illustrated in Figure 3B View FIGURE 3 .

Female. Dimensions: LB: 9.3mm – 10.7mm (ā 9.88mm); LR: 1.4mm – 1.9mm (ā 1.68mm); WR: 1.3mm – 1.5mm (ā 1.42mm); LP: 2.9mm – 3.5mm (ā 3.2mm); WP: 3.0mm– 3.4mm (ā 3.27mm); LE: 5.9mm – 7.1mm (ā 6.42mm); WE: 4.3mm – 5.2mm (ā 4.66mm). N=5

Habitus as shown in Figure 2C–D View FIGURE 2 .

Otherwise similar to male, with the following distinctions: Pronotum slightly shorter than in male. Elytra wider and longer than in male; with two tufts of robust brownish dense and erect bristles located at apex of declivity ( Figure 4C View FIGURE 4 1 View FIGURE 1 ). Ventrite I simple, not depressed. Tarsi narrower.

Notes on variability in markings. About 40% of the specimens have an additional elytral strip on interval II, extending from behind the middle, and about 30% of the specimens have all scales of the same golden color.
