Yi-Bin Ba & Jun-Tong Lang.

Description. Male ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ). Body black, except mandibles dark brown, antennomeres I −II and basal parts of III dark brown on ventral sides, pronotum reddish brown, distinctly darkened at anterior and posterior margins, posterior margins of abdominal ventrites pale yellow. Body densely covered with black pubescence, clypeus, ventral surface of head, all coxae, trochanters and ventral sides of femora, meso- and meta-ventrites and ventral surface of abdomen densely with pale yellow pubescence, of which slightly longer on clypeus and legs than other parts, pronotum mixed black with pale yellow pubescence.

Head sub-rounded, surface finely and densely punctuate, width across eyes distinctly wider than anterior margin of pronotum, eyes distinctly protruding; terminal maxillary palpomere nearly triangular, widest near base, apical part of inner margin arcuate; antennae ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 9 – 19 ) filiform, extending to apical one-third length of elytra when reclined, antennomeres V −XI each with a narrow, short and smooth longitudinal groove at apical part of outer margin, II slightly longer than wide at apex, III −XI nearly parallel-sided, VI longest, XI slightly longer than X and acute at apex.

Pronotum subquadrate, slightly longer than wide, widest near base, anterior margin arcuate, lateral margins distinctly diverging posteriorly and slightly sinuate, posterior margin nearly straight, anterior angles rounded, posterior angles nearly rectangular, disc slightly convex on posterolateral parts, surface finely and slightly sparsely punctuate than that on head.

Elytra about 4 times longer than pronotum, 3.5 times longer than width across humeri, humeral width distinctly wider than posterior margin of pronotum, outer margins nearly parallel, disc mat, coarsely and densely punctuate, present with two slightly distinct longitudinal costae near inner margins. Legs slender, pro- and meso-outer tarsal claws each with a tooth at base.

Abdominal sternite IX long-triangular. Aedeagus ( Figs. 26–28 View FIGURES 20–28 ): ventral process of each paramere thin and nearly straight, with apices rounded and slightly widened in lateral view, distinctly shorter than dorsal plate, dorsal plate with inner angle distinctly extended and bordered, bent ventrally, outer angle rectangular, outer margin sinuate, inner surface with a longitudinal ridge extending from apical margin where surrounding apex of laterophyse; laterophyse with apex tapered, longer than ventral process of each paramere.

Female ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 5 – 8 ). Similar to the males, but eyes less protruding, antennae ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 9 – 19 ) shorter and narrower, extending to basal one-third length of elytra when reclined, antennomeres V-XI without grooves, pronotum slightly wider than long, disc indistinctly convex, legs with pro- and meso-outer claws each with a tooth at base, abdominal sternite VIII ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 29 – 34 ) wide, with a small middle and two large lateral emarginations at posterior margin, the middle one distinctly shallower than lateral ones, the part between middle and lateral emarginations acute at apex.

Body length: 8.5−10.0 mm; width: 2.0− 2.2 mm.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to L. metalliceps sp. nov. in the tarsal claws, but can be distinguished from the latter by the filiform antennae, antennomeres V −XI each with a longitudinal groove along outer margin in male; pronotum with black and pale yellow pubescence; aedeagus: dorsal plate of each paramere with a longitudinal ridge on inner surface; abdominal sternite VIII of female with the portion between middle and lateral emarginations of posterior margin acute at apex respectively.

Etymology. The specific name is derived from its type locality: Hainan, China.
