Fig. 18–20 View FIGURES 13 – 26. 13 – 17

Buenoa exilidens Barbosa, Nessimian, Ferreira-Keppler, 2010a: 52 [Type locality: Brazil, State of Amazonas, Barcelos Municipality, Serra do Aracá, base, Igarapé da Anta; Types in Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia ( Brazil)].

Comments. Buenoa exilidens is similar, in general appearance, to B. platycnemis (Fieber, 1851) with its dark brown color and rostral prong originating laterally on the distal region of the third rostral segment, and distinctly longer than this segment. According to Barbosa et al. (2010a), B. exilidens differs from the first species by its rostral prong being thinner ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 13 – 26. 13 – 17 , 43 View FIGURES 38 – 49. 38 – 39 ); the pronotum not tricarinate; the apex of the fore femur a little narrower ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 13 – 26. 13 – 17 , 44 View FIGURES 38 – 49. 38 – 39 ); the stridulatory area with four to seven irregular ridges; and the claspers distinct ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 13 – 26. 13 – 17 , 45 View FIGURES 38 – 49. 38 – 39 ). The pronotum of Buenoa platycnemis is distinctly tricarinate, and the stridulatory area has 11 to 14 well-marked ridges. The rostral prong of B. exilidens is similar to that of B. tumaquensis Padilla-Gil, 2010 , a species that occurs in Colombia. Buenoa exilidens , however, lacks the parallel striae perpendicular to the stridulatory comb of the fore femur, with fewer ridges, and less teeth on the stridulatory comb of the fore tibia than in B. tumaquensis .
