Diagnosis

Females of T. poggii sp. nov. share with those of T. rollardae sp. nov. a peculiar shape of the spermathecae but can be distinguished by the simple insemination ducts connecting to the very large, circular copulatory orifices ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 E,F).

Type material

Holotype. ♀, Indonesia: Sumatra, West Sumatra Province: old secondary forest above Taman Hutan Raya Bung Hatta, near road Padang – Lubuk Sulasih , 1100 m, 29–30 May 2006, leg. P.J. Schwendinger ( MHNG, Sum-06 / 01) .

Paratypes. Data as holotype, 2♀, ( MHNG, Sum-06 / 01) .

Etymology

The specific epithet is a nominative possessive form of a noun in honour of Dr Roberto Poggi, director of MSNG who kindly made this study possible.

Description

Female (holotype). Total length 5.22; prosoma 2.50 long, 1.72 wide; opisthosoma 2.72 long, 1.36 wide. Leg formula: 1423; I 11.54 (2.60, 1.08, 3.58, 2.52, 1.76); II 9.16 (2.10, 1.00, 2.82, 1.98, 1.26); III 7.76 (1.76, 1.00, 2.20, 1.72, 1.08); IV 11.04 (2.68, 1.08, 3.06, 2.70, 1.52). Spination: Leg I: Femora p1-1; tibiae p10 r8; metatarsi p5 r6. Leg II: Tibiae p9 r8; metatarsi p5 r4. Carapace orange-brown; submarginal lobes blunt; integument not punctate. Sternum yellowish brown. Legs hairless, bicoloured: Tibiae, metatarsi and tarsi yellow, other segments brown. Opisthosoma elongate-ovoid. Dorsum pale, posteriorly with a series of faint chevrons.

Genitalia ( Figure 15 View Figure 15 E,F): Epigyne with large circular copulatory orifices situated anteriorly. Insemination ducts broad proximally, gradually narrowing terminally, descending obliquely then abruptly twisted, connected to anterior lateral portion of spermathecae without distinctive border. Secretory ampullae spherical, originating subproximally on insemination ducts. Spermathecae elongated anteriorly, enlarged posteriorly, provided with glandular pore on inner surface. Fertilization ducts lanceolated.
