Dichotomius (Dichotomius) podalirius ( Felsche, 1901) View in CoL
( Figs. 3 View FIGURE 3 D–E, 4A–B)
Pinotus podalirius Felsche, 1901: 137 View in CoL (original description). Type locality: Ecuador .
Type series. One syntype deposited at Senckenberg Museum f̹r Tierkunde of Dresden, Germany (sex unknown) (Chamorro e t al. 2019a: 118) .
Remarks. According to Sarmiento-Garcés & Amat-García (2014) this species has a length of 20–32 mm. In the reviewed material for the species (n = 30), no individual was greater than 22 mm. We consider that the description length for this species is incorrect and the largest individual does not exceed 23 mm. It is distributed in Colombia: Amazonas, Caquetá, Guaviare, Meta, Nariño, and Vaupés departments ( Medina et al. 2001: 138; Sarmiento-Garcés & Amat-García 2014: 41); and Ecuador: Napo, Orellana, Sucumbíos, and Zamora Chinchipe provinces ( Chamorro et al. 2019a: 117).
