Key to genera in the Paralecanium  -group

1. Stigmatic spines in each cleft in an elongate group of 5 or more extending radially onto dorsum. Preopercular pores present in groups submedially on abdomen, each group fused to form a compound pore... Insularicoccus Hodgson & Williams  gen. n.

- Stigmatic spines in each cleft in a line along inner margin of each stigmatic cleft, not in an elongate group or extending radially onto dorsum. Preopercular pores, if present, not fused but in loose groups around each clear area....................... 2

2. Stigmatic rays present. Each margin with 5 radial lines present between stigmatic clefts, each line indicated by distribution of setae and pores. Preopercular pores present associated with 1 or more abdominal clear areas. Legs either absent or represented by leg stubs (2 exceptions).............................................
