This subfamily was erected by Den Heyer to accommodate the genera Neoscirula Den Heyer , Pseudobonzia Smiley , Coleoscirus Berlese and Scutascirus Den Heyer. The characteristics and the references to this subfamily were presented by Den Heyer (1979).
