Systenus beatae Naglis View in CoL

( Figs 5A, B View FIGURE 5 , 7 View FIGURE 7 )

Systenus beatae Naglis, 2000: 7 View in CoL , figs 5a–b. Type locality: Brazil, Amazonas , Manaus, Reserva Florestal Adolpho Ducke.

Material examined. COLOMBIA, Caquetá, Belén de los Andaquíes, Vda. [Vereda] Aletones , Fca. [Finca] La Cabaña , 01º29’31’’N / 75º52’20’’W, 369 m, 18.I–01.II.2017 / Trampa Malaise en Bosque (Dosel), Y. Ramos-Pastrana leg. (1 ♂, LEUA) (photographed specimen) GoogleMaps .

Distribution. Brazil (state of Amazonas) and Colombia (Caquetá, Belén de los Andaquíes) ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ).

Remarks. The male terminalia of the examined specimen differs from the holotype illustration present in Naglis (2000, fig. 5b) by the presence of an apical ribbon-like seta on the surstylus ( Fig. 5B View FIGURE 5 ). However, examination of the male holotype of S. beatae housed at Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia showed that this seta is broken off, and both terminalia are virtually identical. Systenus beatae can be easily recognized by the long, wide surstylus, longer than cercus and epandrial capsule combined and only slightly narrowed at apex.
