Distribution. Colombia (Caquetá) (New record), Costa Rica (Guanacaste) ( Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7 ).
Remarks. We have examined three specimens of this species and all differs from the male holotype of S. maculipennis by the brown palpus (yellow in S. maculipennis ), It 3 white (dark in S. maculipennis ) and posterior membrane of wing apparently mostly reduced, forming a more conspicuous petiole than in S. maculipennis (see Bickel 2015, fig. 1e). However, the male terminalia ( Fig. 5F View FIGURE 5 ) is virtually identical and we have chosen to keep these specimens identified as S. maculipennis .
