nodosostriatum . Cerithium . Hilber, 1879a [non Peters, 1855]
see Tiarapirenella tabulata (Hörnes, 1856)
* Cerithium nodoso-striatum Hilb. — Hilber 1879a: 437, pl. 4, figs 1a–c.
Type material. Holotype, UMJG & P 200.148 , SL: 14.5 mm, MD: 6.3 mm, Universalmuseum Joanneum (Graz, Austria), illustrated in Hilber (1879a: pl. 4, figs 1a–c).
Type locality. Gamlitz ( Austria) .
Stratigraphy. Middle Miocene, Badenian.
Discussion. The species is based on a single fragmentary specimen, which seems to represent an aberrant specimen of Tiarapirenella tabulata (Ĥrnes, 1856) with multiple secondary spiral threads between the beaded primary cords. The name Cerithium nodosostriatum was preoccupied by Peters (1855: 364). As we consider Cerithium nodosostriatum Hilber, 1879 to be a subjective junior synonym of T. tabulata , no replacement name is needed.
Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Styrian Basin: Gamlitz ( Austria) ( Hilber 1879a).
