Parus lugubris anatoliae Hartert
Parus lugubris anatoliae Hartert, 1905d: 368 (Ahoory, Klein-Asien, 5000 Fuss hoch).
Now Poecile lugubris anatoliae (Hartert, 1905) View in CoL . See Gosler and Clement, 2007: 711.
HOLOTYPE: AMNH 681944 About AMNH , adult male, collected at Ahoory , 5000 ft, Asia Minor, on
6 April 1874, by Henry J. Elwes (no. 6474). From the Rothschild Collection.
COMMENTS: In the original description, Hartert cited Elwes’ number of the holotype. It is the only specimen of this form that came to AMNH, but Hartert mentioned other specimens in BMNH and from Taurus, Jamaular-Dagh, and Smyrna.
Sharpe (1906: 346) noted that in 1874 Elwes traveled from Izmir (5 Smyrna) to the Lycia district , Turkey ; this specimen was doubtless collected on that trip.
