Notes —In the preface of his “ Prodromus ”,A.P. de Candolle (1824) stated that all specimens from his personal herbarium were identified with the sign “ v. s. ” (i.e., vidit sicco) ( Ferrer-Gallego & Laguna 2018). We believe that A.L.P.P. de Candolle (1844) followed the same idea, as the single gathering cited in the protologue of A. parvifolium (Guillemin 604) was indicated as “ v. s. ”. Currently, the specimens from the de Candolle family collection are incorporated into the herbarium G recognized by the acronym G-DC. Since only one of the two sheets of Guillemin 604 from G has the G-DC label, we consider this specimen the holotype of A. parvifolium (G barcode G00143911). Also, after analyzing the isotypes of A. parvifolium , we realized that one specimen belongs to A. pyricollum Müll.Arg. , as it presents broad obovate leaves (vs. elliptical to narrow-obovate) and glabrous follicles (vs. follicles with ferruginous indument) with conspicuous lenticels (vs. inconspicuous lenticels) (P barcode P00639574). Therefore, we are excluding it from the collection of A. parvifolium .
Regarding A. ingratum , from the three gatherings mentioned in the protologue by Schumann (1901), Woodson (1951) indicated the collection Glaziou 17697 as the type. However, since this gathering has more than one specimen, it was necessary to narrow Woodson’s (1951) typification by selecting a material with flowers and follicles as the second-step lectotype of A. ingratum (P barcode P04205157) (ICN article 9.17; Turland et al. 2018).
