Aspidosperma auriculatum Markgr. View in CoL in Notizbl. Bot. Gart. Berlin-Dahlem 12(113): 299. 1935.

Lectotype (designated here): — BRAZIL. Pará: Belém, entre Catú , Aurá e Providência , 1 Jan 1923, A. Ducke s.n. [A. Ducke [22450]] ( RB (mounted on two herbarium sheets) [barcode 00534999 !, barcode 00535016!]; isolectotypes: G [barcode G00169299 image!], K [barcode K000587693 image!], MO [barcode MO-2958587 image!], P [barcode P00645105 image!], S [No. S04-1704 image!], U [barcode U0000464 image!], US [barcode 00111781 image!]) .

Notes — Markgraf (1935b) indicated the gathering “Ducke n. 22450” (Ducke s.n., herbarium RB No. 22450) in the prologue of A. auriculatum but did not cite in which herbarium the type would be deposited. Thus, we chose a specimen from this collection of a Brazilian herbarium as the lectotype of A. auriculatum (RB barcode 00534999) (ICN article 9.3; Turland et al. 2018), as this species is endemic to Brazil. It is worth mentioning that we consider the two preparations with this information in RB (RB barcodes 00534999 and 00535016) as a single specimen mounted on two sheets since they possess a single original label in common, received the same voucher number, and are physically kept together (ICN article 8.3, Ex. 9; Turland et al. 2018).
