( Figure 44 View FIGURES 44 – 50 )

Creontiades montanus Poppius, 1915a: 24 View in CoL –25 (as new species); Carvalho 1959: 75 (catalog); Schuh 1995: 745 (catalog), 2002– 2013 (online catalog).

Material examined. Type specimen: Holotype ♀ by monotypy: INDONESIA: SUMATRA: Mont Singalang, Luglio, vii.1878, O. Beccari leg., type 10059 ( MZHF) [In addition to the locality label, the specimen bears the Poppius’ original handwritten identification label with the mention “ Creontiades montanus n. sp. ”, a second label with the mention “Museo Civ. Genova”, a third label with the mention “ Calocoris sp.”, and a fourth label with the number “456”; the name “Lugio” mentioned on the locality label is omitted by Poppius (1915a: 25) and the month mentioned by Poppius (1915a: 25) is lacking on the labels].

Diagnosis. Body dark brown to reddish-brown. Head dark brown to almost black. Eyes black with a yellow margin posteriorly. First antennal segment dark red, basally with a yellow ring and by a small black patch, apically brown to black with a tiny black ring, second antennal segment orange to red with a small basal yellow and an apical black ring, third and fourth segments dark red each with a basal yellow ring. Legs reddish-brown, the tarsi yellowish. Tibial spines black. Pronotal collar gray-brown. Pronotal disk dark red brown almost black medially, lighter laterally, rugose. Scutellum dark brownish black. Hemelytra reddish-brown to dark red, veins raised, the punctation very reduced but very dense, pilosity white, semi-erect.

Discussion. The type of O. montanus conforms to our diagnosis of Orientomiris on the basis of its external anatomy. Consequently, we suggest the new combination. The holotype was originally from MCSN (Genoa) ( Poppius 1915a) but it is now preserved in MZHF.
