Diagnosis. Shield subrectangular. Ocular scales broad, close, armed with up to 6 spines. Dactyl and propodus of second left ambulatory leg somewhat flattened with dorsolateral ridge. Ambulatory legs with broad longitudinal light stripe bordered by olive or brown on lateral face.

Distribution. Western Atlantic—Bermuda, Florida, Gulf of Mexico, Antilles, Panama, north of South America and Brazil (Atol das Rocas and from Ceará to Santa Catarina).
