Note: Additional research is needed to determine if the traditionally recognized subspecies of octopunctata continue to merit recognition as geographically differentiated subspecies, and if so, which subspecies occur in India. Particularly at question is whether or not the subspecies octopunctata octopunctata occurs within the country.
