Chauliodes pusillus McLachlan, 1867: 231 . Type locality: Unknown , probably somewhere in South Africa.

Chauliodes tenuis McLachlan, 1869a: 38 . Type locality: South Africa (Western Cape: Knysna [ Kysna ].

Platychauliodes woodi K. Barnard, 1931: 177 . Type locality: South Africa (Western Cape: Caledon, Oudenbosch ).

World distribution: South Africa [not India] ( Liu et al. 2011b: 7; Oswald 2024a).

Note: The holotype of Platychauliodes pusillus bears no locality data and its place of origin is unknown. McLachlan speculated, without substantive evidence, that the specimen may have been from India. Subsequent work (e.g., van der Weele 1910a: 49; Esben-Petersen 1924: 156; Liu et al. 2011b: 7) has shown that the species is known only from South Africa. No valid occurrence records are known from India.
