Endrödi (1977b) recorded G. pelagon View in CoL from Colombia, Brazil, Bolivia, and Argentina. Blackwelder (1944) erroneously included Chile (evidently repeating older literature), while Fauré (1953), in his necrology for Gutiérrez, pointed out that Gutiérrez had previously demonstrated that G. pelagon View in CoL did not occur in Chile.
