Endrödi (1966) recorded one no-data specimen from Chile and two specimens from “Conception”. Moore et al. (2018) listed a specimen from Biobio. The lectotype for C. putrida ( MNHN, # EC10259 ) is from “Chili”, and it was either mislabeled, transport- ed, or collected at a time when the border between Chile and Argentina was imprecisely known by collectors. Cyclocephala putrida is broadly distributed in South America , but it does not occur in Chile .
